Did Father Christmas visit Westwood Grange sheltered scheme in Ince last week?
Not quite, but resident Julie Hough was a magnificent stand-in during a terrific afternoon’s entertainment at Westwood Grange on Wednesday.
Julie, 34, has Down’s syndrome and lives with her father Jim in one of the bungalows covered by the scheme. She donned the famous red and white to present each resident with a gift voucher while they enjoyed a bumper Christmas dinner and cabaret.

Julie said "I had a lovely day and I’m hoping that the real Father Christmas will bring me lots of nice presents this Christmas!"
Westwood Grange scheme manager, Pat Diggle added "We had a great afternoon with an enjoyable dinner and some first class entertainment. Julie attends all our events and is a very popular member of our community. She’s a delightful character and we all love her dearly."
Funding for the event came from Wigan's SRB6 (Single Regeneration Budget) One Stop for Regeneration scheme, which supports a host of large and small projects in the Worsley Mesnes, Norley Hall and Ince areas.
