Come rain or shine, a fine time is in store for everyone in Westleigh next Saturday (21st August).
The ‘Trees’ estate community board is having a ‘Family Fun Day’ in Westleigh Park, Westwell Street from 11am–3pm. And if it’s raining, the fun will simply move indoors to nearby Westleigh High School.
There’s lots of fun to be had, with face painting, archery, sports, bingo, dance, bowling and the ‘Welephant’. The emergency services will be demonstrating and, hopefully, police horses will be paying a visit.
Andrew Sharrock, Township Manager says:
“The ‘Trees’ board is mainly concerned with the ‘Trees’ estate, but anyone from Westleigh can come and join in the fun. There’ll be lots to see and do, and of course anyone wanting to know more about the work of the ‘Trees’ board can find that out too.”
‘Family Fun Day’ activities have been arranged with the help and support of local community groups, Wigan Council, Positive Futures, Greater Manchester Fire Service, Leigh Superbowl, McDonald’s, Greater Manchester Police, Wigan Leisure & Culture Trust, Wigan & Leigh Housing, Asda and Positive Activities for Young People.
