Fun, fun, fun

A fun-packed day for all the family is in store for residents on Leigh's Trees estate next Saturday (30th July).

The estate's residents-led community board is holding a free-for-all 'Family Fun' day at St Paul's Primary School in School Street from 1pm till 4.

Attractions include live Samba, a graffiti artist, climbing wall, face-painting and huge inflatables for the young ones to play around. There'll also be information stalls run by various agencies, including Victim Support, Cats Protection, Wigan & Leigh Housing and Crime Prevention. The emergency services will be there too - with the promise of a fully equipped fire engine.

Wigan Council's area co-ordinator, Nicola Lowe says:

"If you're in the Westleigh area next Saturday afternoon, there's only one place to be - that St Paul's school. There'll be lots going on for people of all ages and I'd like,k to thank the community board, emergency services, Leisure Trust, Positive Futures and local community groups for making this event possible."

The Mayor and Mayoress of Wigan, councillors Brian and Barbara Jarvis, will officially open the event at 1.15pm. If the weather is bad, most of the activities will be moved to Westleigh High School.
