Tyldesleyites are set to clean up this Saturday (3rd July) and locals on the town’s Shakerley estate are being asked to join in.
The Shakerley Community Partnership has the litter–strewn common off York Avenue in its sights and wants as many people as possible to ‘muck in’.
Wigan Council’s Township and Street Scene teams are providing a helping hand, while KMI Water and United Utilities, who have been working on improving the quality of water drainage systems in the area recently, will help residents clean–up the brook and surrounding land.
Shakerley common car park is the place to meet at 10.30am and there are light refreshments available to all those taking part. Anyone wanting more information should contact Wigan Council’s Township Team on (01942) 776158.
For more information, please contact Pat Keane, Township Manager on (01942) 776158.
