Saturday afternoon will be a right load of bowls when fans of crown green glory get together to help a very worth cause.
The Beer Engine pub on Poolstock, Wigan, will be the venue for an afternoon of bowls and jacks when Wigan & Leigh Housing (WALH) hosts its fun pairs crown green competition on Saturday June 4th.
Council tenants are invited to join WALH staff and friends from partner organisations for a pleasant afternoon of ‘strictly amateur’ bowling.
Tenants and staff will pair up in a round robin tournament with prizes for the eventual winners as well as spot prizes throughout the afternoon.
There will also be a raffle to on the day to help this year’s mayoral charity Wigan & Leigh Hospice.
The fun begins at 1pm on Saturday June 4th.
WALH Chief Executive Peter Gee said:
“The competition is just one of the events we are hosting this week to raise awareness about the company and what we do.
“Our staff and those of our partner agencies are joining tenants for a friendly competition and we hope to raise some money for an important local organisation in the process.
“We will have bowls available but we’d be delighted if tenants can bring their own. Everyone who wants to take part will need to wear flat shoes or trainers on the green.”
