Our annual gardening competition is now in its fourth year. Applications have been received from residents and organisations on council estates around the borough, and the competition is now closed. Judging will take place during late June and July.
As in previous years, the judging of the local area competitions will be carried out by several panels of tenants supported by Wigan and Leigh Housing staff. The inspection panels will visit each garden and award prizes for the top three gardens in each of the four categories:
The first place winners in each category will qualify for the borough-wide finals and prizes of £100, £75 and £50 and a trophy for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The finals judging will be carried out by gardening experts from Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust.
